lukavacThe Tuzla Canton Ministry of Physical Planning and Environment Protection will cooperate with municipalities in the area of this Canton in implementing the first projects for air protection in the FB&H, which is worth around 14 million BAM.

These are two types of projects: district heating project in primary and secondary networks and project of energy efficiency, whose main goal is to protect the air in the area of Tuzla Canton.

‘’The value of these projects for air protection is around 14 million BAM. It will be distributed so that 85 percent of these funds will be spent on the implementation of projects in the area of municipality Tuzla, Lukavac and Živinice. A large part of the funds will be spent on these three municipalities, because they have been most affected by air pollution from the activities of the thermal plant ‘Tuzla’, which is the main energy factor in these areas’’, said to Fena the Minister of Physical Planning and Environment Protection of Tuzla Canton Božo Antunović.

He explained that 50 percent of these funds will be spent in the implementation of projects for air protection in the area of municipality Tuzla, and 25 percent each in the areas of municipalities Lukavac and Živinice.

The remaining 15 percent of the 14 million BAM will be spent in the remaining ten municipalities in Tuzla Canton. This will be done in a way so that no particular amount will go to a municipality, but rather all municipalities will have the opportunity to nominate projects that they feel are necessary, and which are vital for air protection.
