As part of 75th anniversary of ZAVNOBIH, a group of BH artists has been working on creating a wall in the Old Town of Sarajevo, which displays twenty monuments representing a memory of the thousands killed in World War II on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The mural shows twenty monuments how they looked before and how they look now and shows the relationship of society to symbols that are forgotten and neglected today.
The concept of the wall was designed by Dino Mustafic and Lejla Hodzic, and the main designer is Imelda Ramovic. The murals were made by team members Ajdin Basic, Benjamin Cengic, Srdan Markovic, Alen Selimovic, Armin Zimic, Vedran Poricanin, Alen Ramcevic, Muhamed Barucija, Emin Hadzajlic, Nikola Sotra and Emir Music.
The main designer, Imelda Ramovic, pointed out that the basic message that describes the whole project and idea is in preserving the monument of the past, which is reflected by the degree of culture of a people.
“We hope the mural will develop awareness of how the cultural and monumental heritage is something that is important for the development and progress of every society,” Ramovic said.
