Football A team of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) should finally get a new selector on December 21st this year.
Namely, on December 21st , the session of the Executive Committee of the Football Association of BiH (N/FSBiH) will be held, where the proposal of the Appointment Commission will be accepted and new selector of BH national team will be chosen, Anadolija reports.
The Commission, composed of Ivica Osim, Dusko Bajevic, Zvjezdan Misimovic and Sead Kajtaz at the November session of the IO, proposed Meho Kodro for selector, but representatives of the state football government from BH. entitity of Republika Srpska refused to vote at that time. The former striker of the famous Barcelona and the coach of the Swiss Servette then decided to draw back from the race for the selector’s armchair.
After Mehmed Bazdarevic’contract had expired on October 10th after the last round of qualifications for the World Cup Russia 2018, and because of the failure N/FSBiH did not want to continue cooperation with him, together with Kodra, the most serious candidates for the selector are Robert Prosinecki and Amar Osim.
Osim emphasized even before the unsuccessful session in November, during the negotiations with Commission members, that he wanted to be a selector. A few days ago, Prosinecki said the same. So, Prosinecki and Osim are the most serious candidates at the moment, that could replace Bazdarevic, although the Commission contacted several other coaches.
Anyhow, the new selector should be debute on January 28th next year in a friendly match with the United States of America in Los Angeles. Three days later, the new selector, who will lead the team mostly composed of players from the Premier League of BiH (because then there will not be an official FIFA term for playing test matches), will also have a test during the match with the Mexico in San Antonio.
