Two Hamas sources told Reuters that Hamas officials on the truce negotiating team survived the attack. Palestinian media reported that two people were killed in the Israeli strike, but that they were not Hamas officials.

Israeli officials told Reuters that the attack targeted senior Hamas leaders, including Khalil al-Hayya, the exiled head of the terror group for Gaza and its chief negotiator.

Several explosions were heard in Doha, Qatar, witnesses told Reuters. Black smoke billowed from the city’s Legtifya gas station. Next to the gas station is a small apartment complex that has been guarded 24 hours a day by Qatar’s Emirati Guard since the start of the Gaza conflict.

Ambulances and at least 15 police and unmarked government vehicles flooded the streets around the site of the blast for an hour after the attack.

According to initial reports, the dead included Himam al-Hayya, son of Hamas leader in Gaza Khalil al-Hayya, and Jihad Labad, director of Khalil al-Hayya’s office.

It also said no other Palestinians were killed in the attack.
