Deputy Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Minister of Defense Zukan Helez held an official meeting in Dubai on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, with the Executive Minister of Defense of the United Arab Emirates H.E. Muhammad Ahmed Al Bouardi.
At the meeting attended by the commander of the Air Force and Air Defense Brigade of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brigadier Milorad Krajšumović, and the head of the Department for Airspace Management and Protection Policies in the Department of Policy and Plans of the Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brigadier Herman Jerman, the possibilities of bilateral military cooperation between BiH and the UAE were discussed, but also other significant aspects of economic cooperation.
Minister Helez thanked his fellow Minister for the invitation to visit the “Dubai Airshow 23” air show and on that occasion expressed his wish that BiH and the UAE sign an agreement on bilateral military cooperation as soon as possible, which has been ready for signing for some time.
The minister also spoke about the aspects of cooperation in the field of military industry and suggested that greater cooperation be achieved in that field as well. Helez also spoke about the possibilities of developing economic relations, but he advocated that the driver’s licenses of BiH citizens be recognized in the UAE, as well as the diplomas of healthcare workers from BiH.
Minister Muhammed Al Bouari said that he knows that Bosnia and Herzegovina is a favorite destination for many tourists from the UAE, as well as that Bosnia and Herzegovina is known for its production of quality water.
He emphasized that he will personally consider the possibilities of signing an agreement on military cooperation as soon as possible and solving the remaining administrative obstacles to cooperation in all other fields.
“BiH is in our hearts and we will do everything to make mutual steps in the development of our cooperation,” said the UAE Defense Minister.
In the end, Minister Helez invited his host to personally come to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and after the official meeting he was a special guest at the stands of the American Boeing and the Turkish company Turkish Aerospace.
