Director of the Service for Foreigners‘ Affairs Slobodan Ujicassessed yesterday that the current migrant situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) is under full control.

He recalled that 3.785 illegal migrants have entered BiH since the beginning of this year, stating that the structure in that regard has changed and that there is now an increased influx from Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India, and also that in the meantime more Cubans are evident, as well as illegal migrants from Bangladesh, Iran, and Cameroon, Federalna writes.

”Most importantly, the current situation is under full control and today there are a total of 1.925 illegal migrants in BiH, of which 1.091 are in Canton Sarajevo (CS) and 617 in Una-Sana Canton (USC),” Ujic pointed out yesterday for agency Fena, commenting on the current migrant situation.

Regarding the closure of the Temporary Reception Center “Miral” in Velika Kladusa, from which migrants were transferred to the Reception Center “Lipa” near Bihac, the director of the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs noted that objectively, there are better conditions and sufficient accommodation in center ”Lipa”.

When asked about the further development of the situation in the field of migration management, Ujic stated that the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs, for now, does not have operational data on the direction of illegal migration, but that the figures show that the influx of illegal migrants since the beginning of this year less than the same period last year.
