Una was awarded for her film “The Chicken”, which won the Heart of Sarajevo for Best Short Film at this year’s Sarajevo Film Festival.

The story is based on Una’s war experience as a little girl in Sarajevo, when she wanted chicken and fries for her birthday.

“I have to thank the wonderful cast and crew of this film, which took so long to make – only they know how much heart and soul went into this. I dedicate this to my mother,” Gunjak said after the ceremony.

Una Gunjak is a director and editor born in Sarajevo, who currently lives in London. She studied film at the University of Turin, as well as directing at the National School of Film and Television in the UK, where she gained the title of Master.
