Una-Sana Canton received the highest Budget in History

The Una-Sana Canton received the largest budget in history in the amount of 335 million marks, and compared to the rebalance, it was increased by almost 47 million marks. Nineteen representatives raised their hands in favor, coalition partners from SDA, NES, DF and the Party for BiH. Representatives of other parties were restrained. Some complain about the lack of support for the social sector through their amendments.

The most significant are the increases in budget expenditures in the departments of economy, agriculture and the veteran population. The parties that make up the government are satisfied with this, calling it a responsible policy.

“This is the largest budget in the history of the Una-Sana Canton and we are happy because we are continuing our budget policy that we have had for the past four years. And we have led a serious and responsible budget policy,” said Agan Bunić, NES representative in the USC Assembly.

Nineteen representatives who make up the coalition of SDA, NES, DF and the Party for BiH voted for the most important document in the Canton, the rest abstained. Part of the opposition, among them Club B3, criticized the most for not accepting, as they consider, a very important amendment for vulnerable families.

“We considered that in these 335 million BAM there is enough space to secure five million BAM which would be distributed to five thousand beneficiaries one-time for one thousand marks, i.e. to five thousand families. We considered that these are also citizens of the canton, that it is their budget that they should in some way, at least symbolically, use those 1,000 BAM to improve their material and social position, primarily taking into account inflation,” explained Zikrija Duraković, representative of POMAK in the USC Assembly.

“Unfortunately, some of these items were omitted or greatly reduced and became insignificant, and that prompted us not to vote for the budget today,” said Fatka Kulenović, SDP representative in the CBC Assembly.

The proposed amendments that the government had previously accepted became part of the budget, while the remaining thirteen amendments did not receive support. The financial plans of the Health Insurance Institute and the Employment Service for this year, as well as decisions on their execution, were adopted.
