Besides the construction of underground garages, they are also planning additional missing facilities in this area – sports hall and multifunctional space in the open. With preparation of this planning document they started on the basis of Decision on preparation of the Urban Project “Gimnazija – garaza (High school-garage)”, which was adopted by the Municipal Council Center.

Precisely, on this region are planned following facilities: an underground garage with the capacity of 472 parking spaces on 4 floors, multifunctional space in the open, sports ground, open stage with the capacity of 3,500 seats and a sports hall for the needs of three schools and public purposes.

Sports Hall will be consisted of ground and one floor. The ground floor is divided into two parts, an open public space which is placed in contact with an open playground, intended for public meetings, cultural and similar events and closed part in part that is oriented towards the First Gymnasium, which includes separate changing rooms for each school. This section also contains emergency exit from the underground garage, as well as vertical communication for the sports hall, which is located on the first floor.

Sports hall is intended for the needs of three schools, and it will be divided into three parts with networks or similar flexible barriers, which can be easily removed so that the space can be used as a unique, thus satisfying the requirements for bigger sports competitions.

“The considered space treats an area of 1.6 hectares. South border is Miljacka River and Obala Kulina Bana Street with facilities of the Pedagogical Academy, a residential building and elementary school Safvet Basagic in Gimnazijska Street 1. Northern border goes from the School of Applied Arts to the Bosnian Cultural Center and stretches to the western border. The eastern border represents Gimnazijska Street, from the primary school Safvet Basagic to the School of Applied Arts,” as stated from the Municipality Centar.

From Sarajevo First Gymnasium said that they welcome the decision of the Municipality of Centar for the construction of the mentioned building, especially sports hall.
