As of today, UNICEF in Bosnia and Herzegovina starts delivering another 500,000 protective masks to schools and communities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

These non-medical masks, in total estimated value of close to 300,000 USD are in-kind donation of the German company STS Textiles GmbH & Co.KGthrough German National Committee for UNICEF.

The same donation was received in October 2020, so in total, 1 million of face masks reached the people and children of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The disposable masks are compliant with the European Standard of filter performance.

“This valuable donation will help us reach the schools in Republika Srpska, Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, and Zenica-Doboj Canton, and the most vulnerable refugee and migrant population in  the reception centres in Una Sana  and Sarajevo Cantons . We are grateful to STS Textiles GmbH & Co.KG for this significant donation as part of corporate social responsibility and  to our colleagues in UNICEF Germany, who have been facilitating this process.”, said Dr Rownak Khan, UNICEF Representative in BIH.

UNICEF BIH will deliver the masks to Ministries of Education, and partners involved in Refugee-Migrant Response in Sarajevo and Una Sana Canton for further distribution to the beneficiaries.
