The Union Consumer Basket, calculated by the Alliance of Independent Unions of Bosnia and Herzegovina for December 2025, amounted to 3,313.90 BAM.

The average salary paid in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in October 2025 amounted to 1,632 BAM (the latest data published by the Federal Institute of Statistics of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina), while the minimum wage, in accordance with the decision of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, stands at 1,000 BAM. As a result, the coverage of the Union Consumer Basket by the average salary is 49.25 percent, while coverage by the minimum wage is 30.17 percent.

In calculating the Union Consumer Basket, consideration was given to the average salary in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the minimum living costs of a four-member household consisting of two adults and two children, one of whom attends secondary school and the other primary school.

The Union Consumer Basket consists of the following categories: food (43.19 percent), housing and utility services (14.97 percent), hygiene and healthcare (9.25 percent), education and culture (10.86 percent), clothing and footwear (10.86 percent), transport (4.83 percent), and household maintenance (6.04 percent).

Within the food category, prices from three retail chains were used for 86 products. For hygiene and healthcare, costs for ten items were included, while six items were taken into account for housing and utility services, as stated by the Alliance of Independent Unions of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
