United Kingdom to Donate Aid to BiH and Serbia

donors conferenceIn order to help Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia, the UK government has committed to donate two million pounds. The previously said was promised and agreed at today’s donor conference in Brussels.

So far, the UK has provided almost a million pounds of direct assistance for both countries in order to address the consequences of the floods. Namely, the assistance will include help in manpower, food, first aid, insecticides, pumps for pumping water, technical assistance, etc.

In addition, the UK government has given support to the project which was a response to flooding. The project called “World Vision” focused on sanitation and health, and provision of support for the 140 000 people who lost their homes due to the devastating floods.

According to the official website of the UK Government, the UK is working closely with Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, the European Union and other international partners in order to provide advice and assistance.
