The United Nations Security Council will discuss the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina today. The session will focus on the latest semi-annual report on the state of affairs in the country – covering the period from April to October of this year – as well as a vote on the extension of the mandate for the EUFOR-Althea mission.

According to media reports, the semi-annual report from the Office of the High Representative (OHR) provides a stark assessment of the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a particular emphasis on obstructions and secessionist rhetoric originating from the Republika Srpska entity.

The document warns of the systemic undermining of state institutions, non-compliance with decisions made by the Constitutional Court of BiH, and attempts to establish a parallel legal order.

Denis Bećirović, the Chairman of the Presidency of BiH, will attend the session. The Acting High Representative, Louis Crishock, did not travel to New York.

You can follow the discussion from the United Nations live on BHT1, starting at 3:15 PM CET.
