US Embassy in BiH: We reject any Division of BiH

Chairman of Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Dragan Covic, said on Sunday that the third entity is a real possibility for BiH and it needs to be considered.

“I think this would be a solution that would be acceptable for everyone, “ said Covic, visiting the Croatian Radio-Television.

TV1 requested yesterday the opinion of the United States (US) Embassy in BiH, in order to get comment for Covic’s statement.

The response from the Public Relations Office of the US Embassy in BiH is completely transmitted:

“The US opinion on this issue is well known and remains unchanged. The US is committed to the principles of the Dayton Peace Agreement – BiH as a democratic, multi-ethnic, sovereign and independent state with two entities, three constitutive peoples, with unquestioned territorial integrity.

We firmly reject any further geographical division of BiH, including the possibility of forming the third entity, and strongly oppose the reorganization based on ethnic principles, “ it is stated in the statement of the US Embassy in BiH.
