The High Judicial Prosecution Council package in its current form would not bring the transparency and responsibility that the citizens of BiH deserve from their judicial system, the US Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.
Namely, the last-minute changes made to the Draft Law on the HJPC on May 12 are harmful, they said, and will undermine efforts to increase transparency in the judicial system and improve verification of property declarations.
They emphasized that their views have not changed and that the current draft does not meet international standards, and that it should be amended compared to the original version prepared by the Ministry of Justice.
They emphasized again that the process of Euro-Atlantic integration requires hard, strong work, especially with regard to the rule of law.
