Today, the Embassy of the United States of America asked the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, why he is more concerned with enriching himself and his family, instead of enriching local communities and improving the quality of life in municipalities in the RS.
Stating that the USA strongly supports local self-government in BiH, the Embassy in a post on the social network ‘X’ pointed out that numerous municipalities in which the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD), of which Dodik is the leader, are in power, withdrew from the American aid program, because Dodik put pressure on them to withdraw.
“Their communities are now missing out on the benefits—jobs, improved infrastructure, investment and more—that these programs provide. “Why is Dodik more concerned with enriching himself and his family than enriching local communities and improving the quality of life in the municipalities,” the announcement states.
The embassy also wrote that the US is investing $14.1 million to help municipalities in BiH improve the quality of services they provide to their residents and generate investments and jobs using the power of the Bosnian diaspora.
“‘Diaspora Invest’ has so far achieved 69 million dollars in investments and opened more than 2,800 jobs throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina. All municipalities in BiH have the right to participate in our investment programs and local government programs, and currently 30 municipalities from the Federation of BiH and ten municipalities from the RS participate in them,” the US Embassy pointed out.
The announcement concluded with the statement – “We know where the money is”.
