The U.S. Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Office of Defense Cooperation will fund the renovation of the Mjedenica School in Sarajevo and Primary School “Fra Franjo Glavnic” in Glamoc. The renovation projects are part of the United States European Command’s Humanitarian Assistance program which promotes friendship between the United States and partner countries and bolsters partner countries’ civil sector capabilities.
The renovation of Mjedenica School for children with special needs in Sarajevo will include repair of the school’s roof, replacement of exterior and interior windows and doors, and installation of a new thermo-insulated façade. The project is valued at $400,000. The renovation of the Primary School “Fra Franjo Glavnic” in Glamoc will include a new roof, new doors, new exterior and interior windows and the installation of a new thermo-insulated façade. The project is valued at $350,000.
Both renovation projects are scheduled to begin July 1, 2013 with an expected completion time of no more than 90 days. Local contractors will perform the work. The projects were chosen by the U.S. Embassy in consultation with the BiH Ministry of Defense.
