US State Department comments the Dodik’s Meeting with Vladimir Putin

The US State Department assessed that the decision of the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin “while Russia at the same time openly violates the foundations and laws of the international order”, as well as his earlier decision to single out Putin, represent “short-sighted moves that do not serve the interests of RS citizens”.

“No government, at any level, should at this moment expand cooperation with Russia, while that country is carrying out aggression against Ukraine,” said the spokesman of the State Department for the Voice of America (VoA) regarding Dodik’s visit to Moscow yesterday.

He emphasized that BiH’s path to a democratic, prosperous and secure future “passes through Brussels, not through Moscow”.

“Therefore, we consider Dodik’s path counterproductive and above all harmful,” he added.

Dodik said yesterday after the conversation with Putin in Moscow that the RS has no right to be on the side of those who are on the side of creating anti-Russian euphoria in connection with the war in Ukraine.
