As Bosnia and Herzegovina takes on the essential economic reforms required under the EU Reform Agenda and to move this country forward, the US Embassy supports the passage of laws that modernize the labor market to encourage investment, as well as provide protections to both workers and employers. We believe it is critical that all sides work constructively to implement a labor regime that increases opportunity for all citizens. We commend the leadership in the Federation Government for working toward reforming the labor market, and we hope that other political leaders will show courage in advancing BiH down the path toward the EU and to a stronger economy for all citizens, especially young people in BiH who face the highest level of youth unemployment in the world today.
