Vaccination of employees of the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina and police agencies at the state level began this morning in the “Juan Antonio Samaranch” hall in Sarajevo.
For this purpose, 10,000 doses of coronavirus vaccines have been provided, which is enough to immunize 5,000 people. Immunization of all police officers and employees in police agencies was assessed as very important due to the smooth functioning of the security sector, given that police officers are exposed to constant contacts, and also have an important role in implementing epidemiological measures by controlling movement and border crossing and preventing the spread of coronavirus.
In addition to employees of the BiH Ministry of Security, vaccinated police officers and employees of the BiH Border Police, the State Investigation and Protection Agency – SIPA, the BiH Aliens Service, the BiH Police Support Agency, the BiH Forensic Examination and Expertise Agency, and the Education Agency will be vaccinated.
The vaccines were donated by the Republic of Turkey at the request of BiH Security Minister Selmo Cikotic, during a meeting with Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu in early April in Ankara.
