Value of Construction Works in Bosnia-Herzegovina recorded Increase

The average number of workers employed on construction sites by legal entities in 2018 was 20.090 and represents an increase of 0.6% as compared to 2017, while the number of hours worked on construction sites decreased by 4.8% compared to the previous year, according to Bosnia-Herzegovina’s Agency for Statistics.

The value of construction works done carried out by workers at construction sites in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2018 increased by 5.5% as compared to 2017.

By types of construction, the proportion of works done on buildings was 44.0%, and 56.0% on civil engineering.

In 2018 number of completed buildings by legal entities was 324, thereof 47.2 % residential and 52.8% non-residential buildings.

The area of completed buildings was 531.362 m2, which was 10.9% more compared to 2017.

The number of completed dwellings in 2018 is 2.985, representing a decrease of 0.1% compared to 2017.

The average useful floor area of completed dwellings was 61.6 m2.

The total Producer Price Index in Construction/ residential buildings in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the second quarter of 2019, as compared to first quarter 2019, increased by 0.5 percent.

By types of construction works, in the same period, index of producer prices for Architecture and construction works increased by 0.5 percent, and Electrical installations works increased by 0.6 percent.

Producer Prices Indicies for Plumbing and sewege, and for Heating installations works remained unchanged, BiH Agency for Statistics reports.
