EU Enlargement Commissioner Oliver Várhelyi praised Bosnia and Herzegovina for adopting the Law on Prevention of Conflicts of Interest at the session of the Council of Ministers.
As he stated on the X network, he spoke with the Chairperson of the Council of Ministers, Borjana Kristo, and the topic was the progress of our country on the way to the European Union.
“Reforms must continue!” X Várhelyi said at the end of his online status.
Let us remind you that at yesterday’s session, the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted the Proposition of Zalon on the prevention of conflicts of interest, which was one of the laws from the short list of the European Commission before the session where it will be decided whether we will get the green light.
In addition to that law, the Law on Prevention of Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorist Activities was also adopted earlier. As things stand now, before the session of the European Council on March 21, we will remain on two adopted laws out of the three that the European Commission demanded of us. To date, no agreement has been reached on the law on courts because the ruling coalition does not agree on the headquarters of the Appellate Division.
