On the occasion of the upcoming International Women’s Day, the INFOHOUSE Foundation from Sarajevo and the Lara Foundation from Bijeljina reminded BiH public that there is no reason to celebrate because of the 343,500 unemployed in BiH, more than 58 percent or 200,672 are women, about 200,000 women have been waiting for a job for more than five years, and 85 percent of the management structures of the largest companies in BiH are men.
They state that March 8 is the day when the economic, political and social achievements of women are celebrated, and that they will use that day in 2024 to remind all employers in BiH of the equality of the sexes in the workplace, which is guaranteed by the Law on Gender Equality of BiH, which unfortunately is not carried out in the majority of business entities of both public and private profile.
“We use this extremely important date to invite the public to join the ‘It’s not fair!’ campaign. Through this campaign, our organization will inform the public about the key problems in achieving gender equality in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the coming period. the labor market and invite key actors to find feasible solutions together and contribute to the reduction of the gender gap,” the Infohouse Foundation announced.
