donation VGTOn the occasion of the opening of the Resource Room and SOS Center for Early Childhood Development and a new branch of VGT Insurance in Gorazde, signing of the contract on donation and handing over a check worth 15,000 BAM, took place. At a ceremony that was held in the SOS Kindergarten Gorazde, Faruk Smajevic, a board member of VGT Insurance and Amir Omanovic, national director of SOS Children’s Villages BiH, signed the contract on donation, which provides funds for the work of the Resource Room and SOS Center for Early Childhood Development. VGT is the donor of SOS Children’s Villages in BiH for three years in a row, with a commitment to continue this friendship in the future.

“VGT Insurance, as a true friend of SOS Children’s Villages BiH, permanently committed to provide support to those who need it the most. We have always supported the work of organizations that are taking care of children through socially responsible business. Three years long partnerships with SOS Children’s Villages BiH brought us lasting satisfaction and fulfillment with the fact that we are helping in education and development of children and young people, which represents a direct investment in a better future of our country. The slogan of VGT Insurance ‘For carefree days’ truly reflects the commitment and desire of our company to be a part of the family that ensures a happy and carefree childhood to children, which need it the most,” said Faruk Smajevic, a board member of VGT Insurance.

“VGT Insurance, as a socially responsible company and a longtime friend of SOS Children’s Villages BiH, truly understands the needs of children and families with whom we are working all across the country, and they gladly accepted the proposal to support the activities of the Resource Room and SOS Center for Early Childhood Development in Gorazde. We are especially glad that our corporate partner recognized the importance of the educational program such as the Center for Early Childhood Development. Early prevention and detection, especially in families from marginalized and vulnerable groups, can significantly contribute to the healthy growth and development, prevent the progression of difficulty and improve integration in educational institutions. Moreover, only 14 % of children are included in compulsory preschool education currently in BiH. Thanks to our friends from the VGT Insurance, we will allow significantly higher number of children in Gorazde to go through compulsory preschool education,“ said Amir Omanovic, national director of SOS Children’s Villages in BiH.

Together with the local community, SOS Children’s Villages BiH have detected the need to open the Resource Room and SOS Center for Early Growth and Development for children with disabilities and children and families from marginalized groups. The initial resources and support was provided by the Government of BPK Gorazde.
