In the Base of the Police Support Sector, a solemn police oath ceremony was held for the new generation of cadets who successfully completed their training for the rank of “Policeman” at the FMoI Police Academy.

Cadet Belma Bećirović addressed the audience on behalf of her generation.

“Our motives for becoming police officers certainly differ in some ways, but we all share the desire to serve the community, protect the homeland and fellow citizens, preserve order and peace. Choosing a police call is choosing a life path dedicated to serving others, and the uniform we wear is a symbol of justice, safety and trust that society has placed in our hands. I am sure that we will be able to justify that trust,” said Bećirović.

Ten women and 46 men will start work tomorrow in all organizational units of the Police Directorate of the MoI of Sarajevo Canton.

Police Commissioner Fatmir Hajdarević, in his address to the cadets, pointed out that they chose a calling that requires courage, integrity and responsibility towards the community.

“The citizens of Sarajevo do not demand perfection from you, but they have every right to demand fairness, professionalism and impartiality. The uniform you wear from today is not a shield that separates you from the citizens, but a symbol of their trust in you. Be uncompromising in your work and in the fight against crime, but also support those who need help and protection. “Your strength will not be measured by the force you possess, but by the extent to which you apply the law fairly and equally to everyone,” said Commissioner Hajdarević.

Admir Katica, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, highlighted the importance of strengthening the capacities of the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Internal Affairs, noting in particular that the reinforcement of personnel over recent years has brought the number of new police officers to nearly 1,000.

Following the swearing-in ceremony, Chief Inspector Adis Kilić and Independent Inspector Amra Fukelj Mahmutović conferred the rank of “Police Officer” upon the new recruits, while sector and police administration chiefs presented them with their police badges, the Ministry announced.
