The basketball team of Bosnia and Herzegovina defeated the selection of Latvia with 79:73, in the match of the fourth round of qualifications for the European Championship in 2022 on Sunday evening.

The selector Vedran Bosnic’s team took the first place in Group H with two consecutive victories in the hall of the Hills Hotel, three days ago over Bulgaria and yesterday night against Latvia, and two rounds before the end they secured a place in the Eurobasket, Fena news agency writes.

Most of the game, the BiH basketball players played better, they had an 18-point advantage in one moment, but in the last quarter they allowed Latvia to fully return to the game and choose a dramatic ending.

The beginning of the match belonged to the guests who took the lead with 2: 9, but a big series of BH followed and did not drop until the end of the game.

The most efficient in the BiH national team were Edin Atic and Kenan Kamenjas with 19 points each, John Daniel Roberson scored 12, and Emir Sulejmanovic 10 points. In the selection of Latvia, the best were Richards Lomazs with 19, Aigars Skele with 16 and Martins Meiers with 15 points.

In the first match of the fourth round in this group, Greece beat Bulgaria 84:78 after overtime and took second place with the effect of three wins and one defeat, as well as first-placed Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the last two rounds in February 2021, the BiH national team will play against Greece and Bulgaria.
