The full renovation of Vijećnica is foreseen for beginning of May, when the building will start to be functional. Vijećnica will have an authentic look, inside and outside, exactly as it was on 20 April, 1896, when it was officially opened and given for use to Sarajevo municipality.
Currently, the final phase of renovation is ongoing and is financed by IPA funds of EU in the amount of 5 million Euros. The final renovation works are being performed on the building.
A visit of the Vienna Philharmonic will take place on the occasion of the renovation and official opening of Vijećnica. A video screen will be set outside the building for citizens and visitors of Sarajevo to enjoy the concert spectacle.
