Visa Regime with Kosovo will not be abolished!

Crnadak Visa Regime radiosarajevo.baAfter the speculations that delegations of BiH and Kosovo might hold a meeting on abolition of visas these days, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH Igor Crnadak said that the visa regime will not be abolished and that the meeting was announced on expert, i.e. consular level.

Crnadak said that he does not know nothing about any meeting about the abolition of visa regime with Kosovo, especially not in Sarajevo.

“There is an initiative for an expert meeting in Montenegro, given that we do not have the established diplomatic relations with Kosovo. That was the deal. However, the meeting was prolonged twice by the Kosovo party and I have no information about a new scheduled meeting,” Crnadak said.

Crnadak added that the BiH representatives from the consular department are still waiting for response from Kosovo.

“Those discussions will not refer to the abolition of visas and that is not possible in any way. The discussions will refer to a sort of mitigation of procedures in order to enable better filtration, especially of people who deal with business and other activities that refer to the normal life of citizens,” Crnadak said.

Crnadak said that BiH diplomats will try to simplify the procedures on the consular level as much as possible, so that the minister does not have to sign every visa individually.

“That would be the primary aim of that meeting. After two postponements, according to information I have we are waiting for a date proposed by them, so that we could have technical and expert discussions,” Crnadak concluded.
