Vucic on Dialogue with Pristina: Talks will be conducted in a ‘different way’

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, announced on Sunday that there will be changes “in the doctrine and approaches” of the continuation of the dialogue with Pristina, which, he said, mean that it will no longer be possible for Belgrade to be put before the fait accompli.

Vučić said that Belgrade remains open to dialogue, but that he will conduct the talks in a “different way”, reports Beta news agency.

“When someone cheats on you once, it happens to good people because they trusted someone at their word or signature. When they cheat on you a second time, maybe you trusted or wanted to trust too much. If it continues, it doesn’t say anything about the person who cheated on you but that you are a fool. We are not such fools anymore,” Vučić told reporters in Belgrade after a reception organized for elementary school students from Kosovo.

He said that it is possible that at some point Belgrade will have to accept something by force, but then it will be clear that it was done without an agreement.

European Commission spokesman Peter Stano confirmed earlier that the meeting of the main negotiators from Belgrade and Pristina will be held on Tuesday, March 19, in Brussels.
