Vucic: We will not accept any Document that obliges us to support Kosovo’s Membership in the UN

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, said yesterday that Belgrade will not accept any document that obligates it to support and assist Kosovo’s membership in the United Nations(UN), institutions, organizations and UN agencies.

In an address to the citizens from the Presidency of Serbia, Vucic said that he expects a “broad polemic” on this issue to open in January.

“Serbia does not recognize and will not recognize the independence of Kosovo. We will not accept any document that obligates us to support and help Kosovo’s membership in the UN, neither in the short term nor in the long term. We will not accept such an obligation,” said the President of Serbia.

Vucic said that Belgrade will implement all the agreements from the dialogue with Pristina that it committed to, but also assessed that Kosovo Prime Minister Aljbin Kurti does not want to implement any agreement.

“Serbia will implement everything we said in a correct way, but we are also waiting for the formation of the Community of Serb Municipalities (ZSO). From identity cards to license plates, we have always tried to reach a compromise,” Vucic told.

He added that since Kurti came to power, 454 attacks on Serbs in Kosovo have been recorded, the most this year – 176.

Vucic accused Pristina of continuing to hide the findings of the autopsy of three Serbs killed in a conflict with Kosovo forces in the village of Banjska on September 24th.
