The general director of the company “Drina resurs” from Srebrenica, Aleksandar Miskovic, said at the presentation of the results of the geological research carried out in the area of this municipality that gold was discovered at a depth of 80 meters in the Brezani locality.

“It is too early to talk about the amount and percentage of that metal in a ton of ore, but it has been reliably established that it is in the ore structure,” noted Miskovic.

Speaking about the results of the work of the company “Drina resurs”, which operates as part of the Canadian company “Tera Balkanika” from Vancouver, Miskovic said that this year they drilled a total of about 1.900 meters in the locations of Cumavici, Olovine and Brezani and that the results are promising and optimistic.

“This year we tested our assumptions, plans and projects, and next year we plan to drill 10.000 meters of boreholes, from 50 to 500 meters deep, and arrive at better, more reliable and more precise knowledge about the size of ore deposits, their dimensions and shape, quantity and composition of ore deposits and the depth at which they are located,” explains Miskovic.

He specified that in the Cumavici locality, at a depth of 50 meters, they discovered silver-zinc and lead ore with a larger admixture of antimony and a smaller admixture of gold, and that in Brezani they discovered gold at a depth of 80 meters and that they expect that they will find copper in the deep zone in Brezani and Olovine.

Miskovic stated that they do not use the results of research carried out by Austria-Hungary in this area, but that they are grateful for providing access to Yugoslav geological documentation and to the local government and population for good cooperation.

He particularly emphasized that the laws in Republika Srpska (RS) are favorable for investment and that this company wants to become one of the leading research companies in this region.

“The ‘Tera Balkanika’ company invests in geological research in the municipalities of Srebrenica and Bratunac, and after that, the results that will be obtained from expert analyses, and it will be decided whether to proceed with the development of project documentation and the exploitation of those ore deposits, and under what conditions,” told Miskovic.

Further, he said that based on earlier knowledge and research, they did geological drilling in Cumavici and Olovine, and that they themselves discovered ore deposits in Brezani.

Miskovic added that they are now detecting the structure and amount of ore, as well as the size and appearance of the ore deposits, using different drilling methods, with much better technology than the pre-war, Yugoslav one, when only vertical drilling was performed and, for unknown reasons, the presence of gold in the ore was not investigated, Vijesti.ba reports.
