Vulin in Banja Luka with Dodik: RS is Serbia’s Foreign Policy Priority

The Minister of Internal Affairs of Serbia, Aleksandar Vulin, said today in Banja Luka that the Republika Srpska (RS) is always the foreign policy priority of Serbia.

He thanked the Serbian member and chairman of the Presidency of BiH, Milorad Dodik, for, as he said, years of persistent struggle for Serbian national interests and raising awareness of the need for unity of the Serbian people, which does not endanger anyone, BHRT writes.

Vulin emphasized that the material assistance of the Government of Serbia to the Republika Srpska is proof that the relations between the two republics are not empty stories, but concrete cooperation in order for the people in RS to live better.

“Republika Srpska will always be helped, every need of RS is our need. “The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, has made a significant impact so that RS can better understand, accept and respect the will of the Serbian people on this side of the Drina River, both internationally and within our relations,” Vulin told reporters after the meeting with Dodik.

Vulin informed Dodik about the cooperation between the Ministries of Internal Affairs of Serbia and RS, joint exercises, the fight against organized crime, terrorism, the migrant crisis and other activities that guarantee security to citizens.

Speaking about the possibility of a joint exercise of the Serbian Army and the Armed Forces of BiH, Vulin assessed that it would be good for creating mutual trust, but also that the cooperation of different armed forces can strengthen regional stability.

“The Serbian government has adopted a six-month moratorium on participation in any military activities with other partners. If the Government of Serbia does not extend the moratorium, of course we are open for cooperation with friendly countries “, concluded Vulin.

Everything that Serbia, led by President Aleksandar Vučić, is doing in terms of regional stability, is something that helps the entire region, said the chairman of the Presidency of BiH, Milorad Dodik, after the meeting with Vulin.

“We welcome such a foreign policy orientation of Serbia. “We are very satisfied with our mutual relations and our level of cooperation,” Dodik said at a press conference.

Dodik reminded that a few days ago, the Government of Serbia allocated 20 million euros of assistance to the authorities of the Republika Srpska to resolve issues related to the coronavirus pandemic, and expressed gratitude to the Government of Serbia and President Vucic.
