The Agency for the Water Area of the Adriatic Sea has issued a new warning due to the predicted heavy rainfall in the area of the Adriatic Sea basin, especially the lower part of the Neretva and Trebižat basins.

Heavy rainfall has been announced for the coming weekend, and the peak of the water wave is expected on March 16 and 17.

The Agency for the Water Area of the Adriatic Sea advises the relevant institutions to monitor the situation and act in accordance with their powers, adhering to the Federal Operational Plan for Flood Protection.

Services that implement protection measures, rescue of people and material goods are recommended to be extra cautious.

Competent civil protection services should warn the population in areas along rivers that do not have built-in protective water structures of the danger of approaching the shores due to possible increases in the depth and speed of the water in the rivers, and in a timely manner provide a notification with instructions and guidelines for behavior so that the population is able to implement measures aimed at reducing possible damage from the harmful effects of water, Fena writes.
