“We Have Been Quiet Enough”: Sarajevo High School Students Announce a New Protest

dostaThe informal group of some high school students of  Sarajevo has decided to continue its mission, after the difficulties of last year’s organization of the protests “Stay in the shade or move on!- For a better tomorrow”. This time they have fulfilled all the conditions and the protest will be held on Wednesday, 22 January 2014 at 12:00 in front of Parliamentary Assembly of B&H.

“We are the only country that applies an outdated education system and that reduces our opportunities in the world. In the developed countries, youth have opportunities to work while studying and in this way to gain further knowledge”, said high school students of Sarajevo.

This was provoked by missing the chance to participate in the program “Erasmus +”, so students want to express their dissatisfaction not only in regard to not being able to take part in the Erasmus program but also for the overall situation in the education system.

“We want a better education system, which is reflected in the application of theoretical knowledge. We want to work on projects. It is time for youth to protest throughout B&H, for the youth to wake up. We have been quiet enough!”, said the students.
