electricityDespite the FB&H citizens’ low standard of living, the Prime Minister of B&H, Fadil Novalić said how out of 800,000 households in the FB&H, 700,000 families are considered to have a high level of income.

The Secretary of State, Fadil Novalić announced the activities which the Federal government will be implementing during the last months of 2015. It will be related to subsidies of electricity bills for the most vulnerable categories.

As he said, there are close to 800,000 households in the Federation of B&H, out of which 700,000 of them belong to the wealthier category and 100,000 of them belong to the category of the socially vulnerable.

“We have 800,000 households (670,000 users of Elektroprivreda B&H and 180,000 users of Elektroprivreda HZHB). Our idea is to raise the price of electricity for those 700,000 wealthier families by two or three per cent in order to subsidize the other 100,000 families within about 100 kilowatts,” as Novalić said.

Claiming that solidarity is at work, Novalić said that “in general, electricity wouldn’t become more expensive, but for the wealthier it would, while for 100,000 families it would become free or at least cheaper”.

In his view, 90 per cent of the population in the Federation of B&H is wealthy, while 10 per cent is socially vulnerable, mainly retired people.
