Prime Minister of FBiH Fadil Novalić met with the High Representative for BiH Valentin Inzko and first deputy Bruce G. Berton yesterday at the headquarters of the Government of FBiH in Sarajevo.
A broad repertoire of current economic and political issues was discussed, with special emphasis on the implementation of Reform Agenda.
According to the High Representative, on February 15 BiH entered the new important stage of its path towards the EU. There is a considerable number of opened issues before the governments in BiH that demand a decisive approach. Submission of application for membership in the EU is a special moment for this country and something that the citizens can be proud of, Inzko highlighted.
Inzko conveyed to Novalić the same message he conveyed to the officials of Republika Srpska during the recent visit to Banja Luka, and the message states that this is the key period in which reforms must be accelerated. Furthermore, Inzko highlighted that results matter, not words.
Prime Minister of FBiH informed the guest about a series of reform steps that the Government of FBiH already made or intends to make, starting from the adoption of a set of laws that relate to the labor-law legislation, to the improvement of business environment in order to attract foreign investments. Novalić expressed decisiveness to unreservedly implement these reform steps.
Other issues discussed were in relation to the negotiations with the International Monetary Fund, the new law on forests, excise taxes, disposal of military property, financing of culture, etc.
