What is the Number and average Age of Cars in BiH?

Last year, a total of 1.150.863 road motor vehicles were registered in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), and 79 percent are older than 10 years, according to the Agency for Statistics of BiH.

It is important to mention that last year, 984.899 passenger cars were registered, of which 85.21 percent are older than 10 years, as well as 3.944 buses, and 3.323 or 84.25 percent of them are older than 10 years.

Of the total number of registered road motor vehicles in 2021 in BiH, 88 percent refer to passenger vehicles, 8 percent to trucks, and 4 percent to all other categories.

Further, of the total number of registered motor vehicles, 6percent of them were registered for the first time last year.

According to the type of propulsion energy, 75.7 percent of vehicles use diesel, 20.6 percent petrol, and 3.7 percent alternative fuels.
