In 2018, a total of 1,034 persons have reported returning, while the BiH Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees received an announcement of the return of 481 persons.

Compared to the previous year, the total number of returns decreased, but the number of returns of vulnerable categories requiring additional assistance increased.

The share of persons under 18 and over 60 among returnees is 38% (183 persons). Most people returned from Germany (313) and France (90).

According to Eurostat data available, there are currently 14,700 asylum seekers originating in BiH in EU countries.
