How Neum looked like immediately after World War II?

Neum is the only BiH city by the sea whose appearance today is characterized by hotels, numerous apartments and catering facilities, which differs in many ways from the landscape at the end of the Second World War.

The photo shared on the Facebook group Bosnia and Herzegovina – photo encyclopedia shows Neum from this period.

The black-and-white footage shows the strip along the coast near today’s “Poštari” beach, and only three buildings can be counted on it.

Along with the same post, an even older photo was shared, and this black-and-white shot shows a ship anchored along the coast while not a single building can be seen in the entire area.

It was in the second half of the 20th century that the development of this city began, when the first resorts and other tourist facilities began to be built. In the same period, Neum takes on the present-day appearance of a tourist resort as it is recognized today, Klix.ba reports.
