A member of the Presidency of BiH from Croatian people, Dragan Covic, met with Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic yesterday in Zagreb.

At the beginning of the meeting, Covic informed President Grabar-Kitarovic about the current political situation in BiH, as well as the European perspective of our country.

On this occasion, he noted that despite the fact that the Electoral Law was not changed, the Croats of BiH will keep insisting on respect of the constitutional principle of legitimate representation on all administrative and political levels in BiH. He added that the most important thing in the post-election period will be to preserve stability with the aim to establish the government quickly and without some major issues.

He also informed Croatian President about the initiative of the Presidency of BiH for the organization of the round table on the topic of goals of sustainable development of UN Agenda 2030 with presidents of neighbouring countries – Republic of Croatia, Republic of Serbia and Montenegro, who are signatories of the Agenda 2030 as well. This will serve as an additional incentive to regional connection and cooperation. BiH took Agenda 2030 as an international obligation back in 2015.

At the end of the meeting, President Grabar-Kitarovic noted that the Republic of Croatia will continue providing its full support to the internal development of BiH, as well as progress towards membership in the EU and activation of MAP.
