Members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Zeljko Komsic and Denis Becirovic, and the former Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tun Mahathir bin Mohamad, agreed yesterday in Sarajevo that the establishment of a direct airline between Kuala Lumpur and Sarajevo would contribute to faster and more efficient cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, the emphasis was placed on socio-economic issues of interest to both countries, and the interlocutors expressed a mutual desire for further improvement of relations, especially in the area of trade, the BiH Presidency announced.

Komsic and Becirovic pointed out several favorable facts of business interest for potential Malaysian investors, such as the geostrategic position of BiH, i.e. proximity to the European Union (EU), favorable and legally regulated treatment for foreign investors in BiH.

Mohamad was interested in the needs of the real sector in BiH, pointing out that he would like to help with the adoption of legislation in Malaysia, especially to improve tourism cooperation between the two countries.

The interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the visa-free regime between the two countries, which makes an excellent predisposition for the development of relations in the field of tourism, but also for all other forms of cooperation.
