SNSD party President Milorad Dodik visited the workers of the Nova Ljubija Mine last night and promised them that they would be paid six months’ wages as severance pay, while Nova Ljubija Deputy General Manager Suzana Gašić told them that they would be paid their March salary and part of their holiday pay. The workers then ended their hunger strike and went home.

The President of the Nova Ljubija Trade Union, Dario Antonić, stated that the workers would claim the remaining part of their holiday pay through the bankruptcy estate.

“Our pressing problem has been resolved,” said Antonić.

Dodik said that the salaries would be paid by Tuesday, or at the pace the workers would like.
