In 2022, Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) exported a significant amount of weapons, ammunition, and explosives, and the main buyer was the United States (U.S.).

BiH exported weapons and ammunition worth 210.6 million BAM. The largest buyer was the U.S. with 51.5 million BAM, followed by Saudi Arabia with 48.5 million BAM.

A year earlier, the export of these products was 235 million BAM.

In addition, in 2022, BiH exported explosives and similar goods, which are kept as a separate category, worth 52.6 million BAM. And most of these products went to the U.S. – worth 13 million BAM.

A year earlier, the export of these products amounted to 45.6 million BAM, according to data from the Chamber of Foreign Trade of BiH.

It can be assumed that the U.S. is not the end user of these products, but that it sends them to its allies in conflicts around the world, Avaz reports.
