Where is BiH on the List of the World’s happiest Countries

It was recently announced that Finland is the world’s happiest country for the eighth year in a row, but where is Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) on the list? The ranking, which includes 147 countries and ranks them by happiness, placed it in 56th position.

The report relies on data from Gallup’s global survey, which included people from more than 140 countries. Countries are ranked by happiness based on their average life evaluations over the past three years, in this case, from 2022 to 2024.

The Happiness Index is a joint project of Gallup, the Oxford Wellbeing Research Center, the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Solutions Network, and an editorial board.

The survey asked each participant to rate their life as a whole, and the ranking is based on these life evaluations. The report then considers six key variables that help explain life evaluations: GDP per capita, social support, expected healthy life expectancy, freedom, generosity, and perception of corruption.

When it comes to happiness, Nordic countries are clearly doing many things right. For the eighth consecutive year, Finland is the happiest country in the world, with its neighbors grouped right behind. Finland, Denmark, Iceland, and Sweden – the top four – remain in the same order as in 2024, while Norway is again ranked 7th.

As for BiH, the research placed it in 56th position out of 147 countries. When looking at countries from the region, the only one in the top 20 and the highest-ranked is Slovenia, at 19th place.

Kosovo is in 29th position, while Serbia is ranked 31st. Croatia is below BiH on the list, at 72nd place, followed closely by Montenegro. North Macedonia is ranked 86th, while Albania is in 89th position.

At the very bottom of the list is Afghanistan, once again the last-ranked country. Just above it are Sierra Leone (No. 146), Lebanon (No. 145), Malawi (No. 144), and Zimbabwe (No. 143), Klix.ba writes.
