Felix Baumgartner, the legendary Austrian extreme athlete whose jump from the stratosphere in 2012 was followed by the whole world, died at the age of 56 after an accident in Italy. Now the distribution of his property has begun.

The tragedy occurred while he was operating a paraglider, and according to prosecutor Raffaele Iannella, his death occurred as a result of a spinal fracture and severe spinal cord injury.

The Italian prosecutor’s office launched an investigation to determine whether the cause of the accident was a technical malfunction. Witnesses claim that the paraglider may have failed in flight, but the official findings have not yet been published.

Inheritance worth hundreds of millions of euros

During a rich career and major projects, Baumgartner built up a fortune estimated at around 250 million euros. In addition, he also had life insurance worth an incredible 500 million euros.

The entire amount, in accordance with Austrian law, will be inherited by his parents and closest relatives, including his younger brother Gerard. Baumgartner was not married and did not have children.

Partner remains without a share of the fortune

His partner, Romanian TV host and former model Mihaela Radulescu, with whom he had been in a relationship in recent years, is not included in the distribution of money. She will inherit only items of emotional and symbolic value – medals, sports equipment, and collectible watches.

Radulescu is shattered by grief, and on social media, she is posting touching messages in memory of Baumgartner. Just two days before the tragedy, the couple was supposed to celebrate their anniversary
