Why doesn’t Anyone respond to Request for Dismissals due to the Increase in the Price of Vehicle Registration?

The Minister of Transport and Communications of BiH, Edin Forto, is still waiting for the response of the Government of the Federation of BiH regarding the request for the dismissal of the leadership of the Agency for Insurance Supervision in the FBiH.

In the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH), vehicle registration has become more expensive by 6.2 percent since mid-September, that is, the basic insurance policy premium has increased from 396 BAM to 420.55 BAM.

On the occasion of the announcement of the price increase, just a few days before the start of the new price list, Minister Edin Forto reacted quickly, requesting the replacement of the Agency’s leadership headed by Director Ivan Luburić.

He disclosed his request after learning that this agency increased the price of registration by changing the decision on the method of determining the premium tariff and the price list for insuring vehicle owners against liability for damage caused by third parties.

Today, i.e. one month after the request, Klix.ba asked Forto if anything had happened, but he briefly told that he had not received feedback on the request he sent to the Federal Government headed by Nermin Nikšić.

Klix.ba also sent an inquiry to the FBiH Insurance Supervision Agency with the question of whether they plan to return the old prices due to Forto’s request and citizens’ indignation, but they did not receive an answer until the time of publication of this article.

According to Forto’s earlier words, it is unusual for advocates of strengthening the state to work on their own and make such important decisions without consulting the state level of government, especially bearing in mind that the Ministry of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina regulates part of this area.

Despite the outcry of drivers in the FBiH, the authorities did nothing concrete to reduce the burden, but additionally hit the citizens’ wallets. Citizens have nothing from populist moves and messages.

The media previously wrote that the biggest lobbying for the increase in registration prices came from the Association of Insurance Companies of the FBiH, headed by the once high-ranking SDP member Damir Hadžić, who is also the president of the Management Board of Euroherc Insurance, Klix.ba reports.
