The Wizz Air plane on flight number W67778, which was flying from Germany’s Dortmund to Macedonia’s Ohrid, suddenly changed direction over the border of Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), the Flightradar flight tracking service announced on its Twitter account.
The pilot sent the squawking 7700 code to air traffic control, which indicates an emergency, but it is not yet known what exactly happened.
As can be seen from its flight path, the plane flew over Croatian airspace, crossed the border with BiH, then turned sharply, returned to the Croatian sky, and landed across Kvarner at the airport near Venice.
There is no explanation from Wizz Air yet, but there are announcements on Twitter that the plane has landed successfully, Klix.ba reports.
