13453578_1784065391830137_366538208_nAlong the main city road in the Sarajevo neighborhood of Otoka, at the site of the stadium for recreation, will be built new residential and business building.

There are less and less green spaces in Sarajevo, and considering the announced projects, the future does not seem optimistic. Until recently, recreationists used stadium on Otoka, which is located in the vicinity of the Olympic pool and the mosque, however, this practice has come to an end.

Considering that it is a private property, a set of protective fence was set up this morning there and apparently it is planned to begin construction of residential and business object.

It is a location that was assigned to the company Robot five years ago through a public competition to build residential and business premises. Apparently, the owner of Robot sold this land to the company Butmir, which will be probably building certain buildings on the site.

“With the Regulatory Plan Otoka Meander whole area left from the road that leads to the mosque is planned for urbanization, i.e. for the construction of commercial and residential buildings. Even the pool in front of the mosque was planned for the construction of an object, but on the proposal of the Municipality last year, with the correction of regulation plan, the facility was abolished because the land is state-owned,” said the Mayor of the Municipality of Novi Grad, Semir Efendic.

Considering that it is a private property, destruction of green areas and construction of residential buildings is inevitable, and recreationists will apparently have to find another location for their trainings.
