Import exportContinuation of the trend of economic growth in the EU countries is expected in this year as well. Somewhat higher growth rate is expected in the countries of the region, which should result in intensification of foreign trade exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina, shows the analysis of the Directorate for Economic Planning in BiH.

The Information by the Directorate titled “Outlook – Perspectives” states that continuation of growth trend in export of goods is expected and the expected growth rate is nearly five percent, growth will be supported by export demand, increase in production in manufacturing industry, low prices of oil and active foreign trade policy in BiH.

Most significant contribution is expected within the framework of traditional export products such as furniture, chemical products, certain metal industry products, and food. It should also be pointed out that positive contribution to the growth of export in the field of export of electrical energy is expected in 2016, unlike last year.

On the other side, given that an increase in final consumption, investments and production in manufacturing industry is expected in 2016, real growth of export in BiH this year is 3.5 percent. That movement of import and export will eventually result in a slight increase in the foreign trade exchange deficit.

According to this analysis, if economic circumstances in external environment keep begin favorable in the period from 2017 until 2015, higher level of business activity and strengthening of economic growth with average growth rate of 3.7 percent are expected in BiH.
