Rebecca Slick Hunter, Director of Global Licensing and Market Activation at Starlink, arrives in Sarajevo on Monday to discuss the launch of operations in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Klix.balearns.
She will hold a meeting with the Minister of Communication and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Edin Forto.
Starlink has registered a legal entity headquartered in Bosnia and Herzegovina, “Starlink BH” d.o.o., and on May 22, 2026, submitted a request to the Communications Regulatory Agency for the provision of internet access services in order to obtain a license to operate as an internet service provider.
Starlink provides internet speeds that surpass what a large portion of users in Bosnia and Herzegovina receive via classical cable or mobile networks, especially in rural and mountainous areas where stable internet remains a rarity.
These areas have the most potential to receive satellite technologies, because building traditional infrastructure there is economically non-viable.
The technology functions via a network of thousands of small satellites in low Earth orbit, at an altitude of around 550 kilometers, which enables significantly lower latency compared to older satellite systems.
Prices will depend on the final conditions under which the service is offered in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with neighboring countries giving a general idea. In Croatia, the portable Mini terminal can currently be purchased for 199 euros, while the standard home kit costs around 349 euros, with additional shipping costs.
Monthly subscriptions range from 29 euros for the basic residential package, while the Roam package with unlimited data costs around 89 euros per month.
It is also worth noting that Starlink’s pricing policy in Europe shifted upwards in May 2026, and subscriptions in key markets increased by five to six euros. Additionally, instead of a one-off purchase, a mandatory monthly fee for equipment was introduced in certain markets. Analysts warn that Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region are getting the service at a time when the period of aggressively low promotional prices has already ended.
